Ernst & Young 2009 Prize for MDP 3
Ernst & Young, one of the most successful professional services firms in the world, sponsored a prize for the best Business Ethics group project and presentation in MDP 3 in the 2008-09 academic year. The top three groups from MDP 3 gave their presentations at the Ernst & Young Glasgow Office on Wednesday 4 February 2009.
The first prize was awarded to team 4F for their report/presentation on Nike - Strategies for Management to Implement. The winning team consisted of Grant Davidson, John Laird, Cairine MacLean, Lucy McIntyre, Kyle Kearns and Viktorija Telipailo.
The two runnners up were team 1B (Adele Cairney, Frazer Craig, Gordon Docherty, Alan Downie, Christopher Farrell, Lyndsay Forrester and John Ritchie) who presented on Nike and its Ethics and team 9B (Andrew Blair, Kirsty Bradley, Gemma Carpenter, Fiona Casey, Peter Flanagan and Lesley Anne Muir) who presented on The Forestry Commission – Sustainability and Accountability in Business: Strategies for Future.
Ernst & Young made the following statement in relation to the 2009 presentations by MDP 3 students.
This year's MDP3 presentations were of an outstanding quality. The students took time to consider not only the ethical, social and sustainable issues as requested, but truly thought about these issues from a business context; and delivered their ideas and recommendations with clarity, style and substance. It is these core skills and abilities which Ernst & Young recognise as being vital to the development of students preparing themselves for the job market. We were delighted as ever to have played a role in the development of this year's MDP3 students.
