Deloitte 2009 Prize for MDP 1

Deloitte, one of the biggest firms in the professional services arena, sponsored a prize for the best holiday project report and presentation in MDP 1 in the 2008-09 academic year. The top three teams from MDP 1 gave their presentations at the Deloitte Glasgow office on Wednesday 6th May 2009.

The winning team was ‘Fast Tracks’ (9E) consisting of Francesca Ercolino, Cassandra Frame, Scott McKenna, Clare Moss, and Alistair Stewart. Their holiday idea was to offer weekend breaks to selected Formula 1 races.

Runners up were teams 4B and 5A. Team 4B - ‘X-Clusive’ – consisted of Euan Cannon, Zoe Davidson, Scott Docherty, Callum Donaldson and Beatrice Mayer. Their holiday idea was to promote exclusive holidays to exotic destinations. Team 5A was ‘Arc Experience’ – Stephanie Beattie, Andrew James, Abigail MacQueen, Darren Meldrum, Sean Mirner and Lori Wright. Their presentation was on tailor-made holidays for 30-50 year olds.

Our congratulations go to all three finalists. The bar goes up each year and the three boardroom presentations were delivered with great polish, composure and assurance and the task of choosing a winner was almost certainly the most difficult we have ever had. It's very easy to forget that these are first year students. In the end our view was that the Fast Track team deserved to finish in pole position. They came up with a great idea, created and then lived the brand and presented with a passion, energy and enthusiasm that in the end proved very persuasive indeed.
